This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Ribbit app and related services (the "Services"). We take your privacy seriously — our goal is to be transparent about what data we collect and how we use it, while giving you meaningful control over your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide, improve, and personalize Ribbit's functionality. This includes:
a) Information you provide directly
- Account information: If you create an account, we collect your name, email, and optional profile details.
- Voice recordings: When you use Ribbit to capture meetings or notes, we process and store your audio recordings securely.
- Transcripts and notes: We transcribe recordings and store the resulting text securely.
- AI-generated insights and summaries: When Ribbit generates insights or summaries, those outputs are linked to your account for review and editing.
- Edits and feedback: Any edits or feedback you provide help us improve transcription accuracy and model performance.
b) Automatically collected information
- Device data: We collect device type, operating system, app version, and usage analytics (e.g., crash logs and basic engagement metrics).
- App activity: Includes timestamps, feature usage, and limited anonymized interaction data to improve user experience.
- Consent record data: When you provide in-app consents (such as agreeing to the meeting responsibilities agreement), we record and store the IP address associated with your device at that time, along with the date and time of acceptance and related technical metadata. We retain this information to maintain a verifiable record of your consent, which may serve as the digital equivalent of a handwritten signature.
2. How We Use Your Information
We may use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Ribbit app and its features.
- Generate transcripts, summaries, and AI insights from your recordings.
- Improve accuracy and quality of current services and implement future services.
- Respond to user support requests.
- Analyze app performance and enhance reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse.
- Create aggregated, de-identified statistics or insights that do not identify you, which may be used for research, benchmarking, or product development purposes.
3. How We Share Information
We may share limited information with:
- Service providers that help us store data, process audio, or improve functionality (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics).
- Legal authorities if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Third-party integrations you explicitly enable (e.g., exporting notes to your calendar or productivity tools).
All service providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection agreements. We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on encrypted servers located in the United States. We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Voice recordings and transcripts are retained as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide the Services. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@joinribbit.com.
5. Account Deletion
You have the right to delete your Ribbit account and all associated data at any time. When you request account deletion, we will permanently remove your account information, voice recordings, transcripts, AI-generated content, and any other personal data linked to your account, except where retention is required by law or to resolve a dispute.
Please note that some data — such as consent records required for legal compliance — may be retained for a limited period even after deletion. Any retained data will be held only as long as legally required and will not be used for any other purpose.
How to delete your account
Send an email to support@joinribbit.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when deletion is complete.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access and receive a copy of your data.
- Request correction or deletion of your information.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where applicable.
Ribbit provides in-app settings that let you control your data sharing preferences. This includes general data, audio data, and data for personalized services.

7. Children's Privacy
Ribbit is not intended for use by children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
